Mark Calkins is a technology enthusiast, motor head, and a general knowledge-seeker. He is intrigued by stability at scale, and simplicity through complex abstraction. These concepts are what drew Mark into the field of 'building the internet' in the late 1990s and why he still enjoys it today. Mark has over eighteen years of experience in the Telecom/MSO/Service Provider segment with a proven track record of ingenuity and dedication to the craft. He is a certified networking expert according to some vendor certification tests, and has even assisted in writing expert level certification tests in the past. Mark is very excited about the non-profit IX movement because he feels it is an excellent way to give back to the community in which he lives by improving connectivity for all people in the region.
 

Chris Grundemann

Chris Grundemann is a passionate, creative Internet Technologist and a strong believer in the Internet's power to aid in the betterment of humankind. In his current role as Principal Architect at Myriad Supply he is expressing that passion by helping clients build bigger, faster, more efficient networks that are easier to operate and scale. Chris has well over a decade of experience as both a network engineer and architect designing, building, and operating large IP, Ethernet, and Wireless Ethernet networks.  Chris holds 6 patents in network technology and is the author of Day One: Exploring IPv6 and Day One: Advanced IPv6 Configuration, as well as several IETF Internet Drafts, a personal weblog, and various other industry papers and blogs. In addition to serving as President of IX-Denver, he volounteers as Program Committee (PC) member for AfPIF, ISOC-NY liaison to NYNOG, and Chair of the Open-IX BCOP committee.

Jay Hanke handles Network Development and Engineering for the Neutral Path fiber network. Many times Jay is the initial contact with customers and partners. He also serves on the board of directors for the Midwest Internet Cooperative Exchange. Previously Jay founded the MICE and OmahaIX Internet Exchange Points. Until 2014, Jay was CEO of Mankato Networks a consulting firm specializing in 3G/4G wireless and IP consulting. Prior to Mankato Networks, Jay worked in the Data Engineering groups at Alltel and Midwest Wireless. Jay holds a BS in Computer Information Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato and a CCIE from Cisco Systems.
 

Ogi Mitev

Ognian Mitev is a technical management professional with experience in Internet backbone strategies and architecture. Ognian is involved with the development of network standards and architecture related to IPv6, traffic engineering, network automation, QoS, and security. He is the chair of the Rocky Mountain IPv6 Task Force and the Colorado Internet Society Chapter and is actively involved with the North American At-Large ICANN organization.
 

Ryan Privette

Vice President

Ryan Privette has over a dozen years of experience in the management, design, and build of IP/MPLS networks in the service provider space. He focuses on the utilization of programming for automation, orchestration, and efficiency. He acquired a BS in Information Systems from Metropolitan State University of Denver and is an active JNCIE (#479). Ryan is currently the Principal Network Architect at InteliSecure where he is bringing together OS virtualization, open source tools and carrier class hardware in micro and macro environments with a focus on scale and efficiency. He's held previous positions in Architecture at Level 3, several titles and many years at tw Telecom, and began his journey at Virtela Communications.
